An Evening to Benefit the Tom Stoddard Fellowship

The New York University School of Law is establishing the Tom Stoddard Fellowship in the Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Program. Tom Stoddard, a former Hays fellow and currently an Adjunct Professor of Law, was executive director of Lambda Legal Defense arid Education Fund. He also helped to write New York City’s ordinance outlawing discrimination based on sexual orientation, as well as the state’s Privacy Protection Law and its whistleblower statute. Each year, one second-year student at NYU Law School wi II be selected to work with public interest organizations on gay and lesbian and other civil liberties issues. The Stoddard Fellow like other Hays Fellows, will be selected through a rigorous application and interview process.
