CLAGS@CUNY and Beyond

Starting this Fall semester, CLAGS is moving on out! No, we’re not leaving our wonderful
home at the Graduate Center, but we are expanding the reach of our events to other campuses. Working with CUNY colleges and other colleges and universities in the New York area, we’re kicking off a new series: CLAGS at CUNY and Beyond. Each of these events will be hosted by a specific campus and feature faculty and/or students producing work in LGBT studies. Our goals for this series are many: first, to strengthen ties between CLAGS and the CUNY colleges around the city by supporting events that spotlight Queer Studies scholars on those campuses; second, to raise CLAGS’s profile among students interested in LGBT Studies who might not be aware of the programs we offer; and third, to nurture lines of communication among LGBT Studies scholars at CUNY and other New York area campuses.
This semester, we’re excited to be organizing two “CLAGS at CUNY and Beyond” events: one at the College of Staten Island, and one a little farther afield, at Cornell, home to CLAGS Board members Sara Warner and Dag Woubshet; visit our website www.clags.org for more information. We hope these events are the beginning of what promises to be an exciting and innovative program.
