Donor Profile: David Serlin

I was thrilled to discover that CLAGS existed when I moved to New York City in 1992. As a graduate student, I volunteered as an usher at groundbreaking academic conferences and cultural events, and spent Saturday afternoons stuffing envelopes at Marty Duberman’s house. Ten years later, I was honored when I was invited to join the CLAGS Board of Directors. I helped organize events and seminars, award fellowships, and raise funds in order to provide an amazing array of scholarly and political resources for queer folks around the world. Even though I no longer live in New York City, I am proud to maintain my affiliation with CLAGS. I know that my donation will help to sustain the organization’s cutting-edge vision well into its third decade and beyond.
