In February and April 1993, CLAGS and PEN, the international writers’ organization, will cosponsor two extraordinary free presentations on lesbian and gay literature. These events will mark the first time in its history that PEN has sponsored a gathering on lesbian and gay literature.
The first evening, Friday February 19th, will focus on lesbian writing and the second, Monday April 20th, on gay male writing. Each evening will open with a panel of writers whose work has addressed the lesbian and gay community for many years and been of historic influence.
These literary heroes will discuss the antecedents and development of their work.
After a picnic dinner, a second panel will discuss contemporary lesbian or gay male writings and offer some ideas about the literary future. A reception will follow. The two events will take place from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at the The Graduate Center, CUNY Auditorium, 33 West 42 St. For further information, please contact Dan Evans at the CLAGS office, (212) 642-2924.
