A lunch organized by CLAGS Board member W. Kirk Wallace took place on August 14 at the Fire Island Pines home of Fred Hochberg and Tom Healy. At the gathering, which included some of the lesbian and gay community’s most philanthropic members, Wallace, Healy and CLAGS’s executive director Martin Duberman, talked with the luncheon guests about the organization’s activities and goals. All three stressed the importance of accurate scholarship in changing stereotypical images of who we areof how scholarship is a form, a critical form, of activism. CLAGS wishes to express its appreciation to Wallace, Hochberg and Healy for making this occasion possible. CLAGS would welcome additional opportunities to spread word of its work; anyone interested in offering a venue for meeting with potential friends and supporters of CLAGS should call the CLAGS office at 212 642-2924.
